## Overview

Peekaboo Guru is a location-based lifestyle guide that helps people find what is around them: restaurants, brands, entertainment venues, salons and much more. What sets it apart is its role as a deals and discounts aggregator. In a single app, users can see who is offering what, and where. Those offers come from a brand’s own sales and promotions, discounts offered by banks, telecom operators and insurance companies, and offers from other discount apps. Today the platform is used by more than 500,000 people every month.

## The challenge

In Pakistan, discounts are everywhere but hard to find. A cardholder's bank deal might sit on one website, a telco offer in an SMS, a brand's seasonal sale on social media, and a discount app's merchant list somewhere else entirely. Merchants and offer providers faced the opposite problem: their reach depends on customers happening to see a promotion at the right moment. The platform needed to solve both sides:

- Fragmentation: offers were scattered across banks, telcos, brands and discount apps, with no single place to compare them.
- Relevance: a good deal only matters if it is nearby and applies to the card or membership the user actually holds.
- Accuracy: offers change constantly, so data had to stay current to earn user trust.
- Durability: a product built only on discounts is vulnerable, because providers can withdraw offers at any time.

## What did we build?

A complete lifestyle guide with a deals engine at its core. Instead of acting as yet another discount provider, it brings every provider together and puts them on a map.

- **Nearby discovery:** Location-based search surfaces restaurants, brands, entertainment places, salons and other services close to the user, with addresses, branches, timings and contact details.
- **Deals from every source:** Brand promotions and sales sit alongside bank, telco, insurance and discount-app offers, so users can see the full picture.
- **Card-based personalisation:** Users choose the cards they hold (such as bank, insurance or student cards) and see the offers that apply to them.
- **Rich venue information:** Menus, ambience, ratings and reviews help users decide before they leave home.
- **Broad categories:** Food, lifestyle, entertainment, health, education, home decor, services, electronics, e-stores and self-care.
- **Simple onboarding:** Quick sign-in with a Google or Facebook account, available on iOS, Android and the web.

## A guide first, a deals app second

An important design decision was positioning Peekaboo Guru as a lifestyle guide rather than only a discount finder. The team started out as a discount aggregator and deliberately broadened the product, because offers can be removed by providers whenever they wish. A guide to places, brands and experiences remains useful to users every day, whether or not a promotion is running.

## A platform that works for everyone

- Consumers: one place to find what is nearby and what it costs. Less searching, more savings.
- Brands and merchants: visibility to users who are actively looking, at the moment they are deciding where to go.
- Banks, telcos and insurers: a channel that puts card and membership offers in front of the right customers, near the right locations.
- Other discount apps: their merchant offers are surfaced alongside others, widening discovery for users.

## Why it worked

- Aggregation over competition: rather than competing with offer providers, the platform gives all of them more visibility.
- Location as the organising idea: offers are most valuable when they are close by, so the map became the core experience.
- Personal relevance: choosing your own cards turns a long list of deals into a short list of deals you can actually use.
- Value beyond discounts: reviews, menus and venue details keep users coming back even when no promotion is running.

## How we built it

FetchSky carried the product end to end: UX and UI design, mobile and back-end development, and the data integration that brings offers from brands, banks, telcos, insurers and other apps into one current catalogue, on iOS, Android and the web.

## Outcome

Peekaboo Guru has grown into one of Pakistan’s established local-discovery platforms, with over 500,000 people using it each month to decide where to eat, shop, relax and save — a single destination that aggregates offers from brands, banks, telcos, insurance companies and other discount apps.

## Outcomes

- Monthly active users: 500,000+.
